With the mountain around the Achensee Region
The regions Karwendel and Rofan are ideal for cycling holidays. With around 250 km sign-posted cycle routes, there is certainly something for everyone. To cycle along the relatively flat 15 km lake-side road is comfortably easy for everyone. On the other hand, there are the more difficult to really difficult mountain-bikes routes which attract many bikers due to their diversity and beauty.
We have our own bicycle hire. Their pedals are waiting to be pushed along the lake-side, along the river Isar in Bavaria, next to the river Inn in the Inn-valley or into the mountains of the Karwendel and Rofan Mountains.
As tested Hotel by the Tyrolean Tourist Board for cycles and bikes, we have qualified and passed all the needed criteria! Here you will find an over view of the main mountain-bike routes:

With the E-bike around the Achensee region
With 16 hire-stations, the Achensee Region is well in trend! On the E-bike as well as getting fresh-air you can take it nice and easy around the Achensee Region, having enough time and energy for sight-seeing! An E-bike ride through the Achensee Region can be enjoyed by everyone – young and not so young or fit and not so fit! Something new and different, give it a try!
Bike Trail Tyrol
Get to know Tyrol by cycling through the most beautiful places along the 1.000 km routes of the Bike Trail Tyrol. One of the 32 day stages is the Achensee Region:
- Stage 07/Scharnitz – Achensee: This rather advanced 61,5 km route takes you directly through the Karwendel Nature Park. Along the entire route your are accompanied by the spectacular views and the closeness to nature – this route is one of the best in the Trail!
- Stage 08/ Achensee - Kaiserhaus: This stage starts in Maurach and takes you over the “Kögljoch” (mountain peak) in the Rofan Mountains down into the Brandenberg valley.
Here one must cover an altitude of around 1.450 m. - Stage 16/Zell in the Ziller Valley – Achensee: This rather comfortable route – the easiest in the Bike Trail Tyrol, takes you outwards along the valley on a cycle-path before stretching up into the Achensee Region.
